The North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, created by Governor Mike Easley, provides financial assistance to victims of the storms that have hit the state this hurricane season.
"From the mountains to the coast, our state has suffered devastating losses as a result of recent storms," says Easley. "The victims of these storms need to know that we will support and help them any way we can. The North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund provides an opportunity for our citizens to reach out to our neighbors in need."
The North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund has been established to accept monetary donations. The fund is managed by the Governor's Office, in partnership with the United Way of North Carolina. There is no administrative cost associated with the fund, and 100 percent of the donated funds will go to the victims.
